Head Hair
More than 85% of men suffer from hair thinning by the age of 50. More than 50% of women may experience significant hair loss in their lifetime. The first scalp hair transplant was performed in 1939, in Japan. Through time doctors developed the "delivery" technology. This involves growing large tufts of hair. With the development of cosmetic and surgical techniques, several types of hair transplant surgeries have been modernized to help re-grow lost hair. Hair transplant is done to add more hair to light or bald areas. It is done by taking hair follicles from thicker areas of the scalp, or from other parts of the body, then re-transplant it on the wanted areas.

Methods
About 60% of men and 50% of women suffer from some form of hair loss. That’s why people mostly use hair products to sole the problem.
Hair transplant is another modern and safe method of hair restoration. Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) and Follicular unit extraction (FUE) ones of the most common methods.

Is Hair Transplant useful?
Hair transplants are often more successful than traditional hair restoration products.
But there are some factors to consider:
About 10 to 80% of transplanted hair will grow back completely within three to four months, and like normal hair it becomes thinner over time.
People with dormant hair follicles (cysts that usually contain hair under the skin but no longer grow hair) may have fewer effective transplants, but a study in 2016 indicated that plasma therapy could help up to 75% or more of the transplanted hair to fully grow back.
Hair transplant is not suitable for everyone. It is mainly used for hair restoration when there is a problem of baldness or thinning naturally, or if the hair has been lost due to an injury.
Most transplants are done by using your existing hair, so they are not effective in treating people with:
- complete baldness.
- Hair loss due to chemotherapy or other medications.
- Thick scalp scars due to injuries.
